This place is clean and charming, with nice views of the garden, located in a suburban area near a cemetery, the Zoo, or Kurfurstendamm.

location is ideal, next to the metro stop Güntzelstrasse and about 25 minutes by metro from Alexanderplatz (3 stops with the orange line to Zoologisher Garten and there you take the red line to Alexanderplatz). Furthermore, it is only 2 metro stops to take the bus 109 to Tegel Airport, is about 45 minutes away. Near the hotel there are supermarkets, some restaurants, pub where they sing and play live music every day and a petrol station where they have everything you need. As for the hotel-pension, comment that they are reforming the rooms and interior of the hotel (painting, carpet, parquet.. so quality/price ratio, you can not ask for much more. Our triple room - non-smoking - was simple but spacious and bright and bathroom was just right. heating was working very well and we were not cold at all. Finally, on the last day they packed our bags until we left for the airport in the afternoon.
The staff speaks almost no English, the towels are not changed daily, the beds are not too comfortable and at breakfast - although it is complete - there are no pastries or fruit and every day it is the same.

Stayed for 2 nights in this absolutely charming place, loved that. Its staff was amazingly nice. Our rooms were nicely styled and reasonably large with single beds.

We didn't have time, so we also would like to go back there again. Really enjoyed our stay, had good 4 days overall. The location was marvellous and perfect for Berlin, very close to the U-Bahn and excellent metro connection to the most important locations in the city and a metrostation and a supermarket. Spent our evenings in nearby Rickenbacker's, especially when it was cold outside.

Nice and cosy hotel with helpful staff. The location was quite good, only a walk away from shopping malls and cafees. Though it was very quiet and peaceful in and near the hotel!
Nothing to claim.

It was simply ok, very close to metro station.
Bathroom could be a bit larger. It is an old building, some people might not like it.

If you wish to feel yourself as one of the locals, this hotel will certainly give you a chance. Old house with history and with creaky stairs has all this atmosphere of old german private houses.
They will give you two keys: one for frontdoor and one for your room. Surprise is that the last one also opens a door into the hall. So if there are 10 rooms on a floor, than I have theoretical access to all other rooms, including mine! I have not tested it, but suppose that it works.
